Information We Collect

We keep data collection minimal. Here is what we collect and why:

Email address (newsletter & account signup)

When you subscribe to our newsletter, create an account, or access gated resources, we collect your email address. We may also collect your first name if you choose to provide it. This is the primary personal data we collect, and we handle it with care.

Email subscriptions are managed through Kit (formerly ConvertKit), a U.S.-based email service provider. Your email address is stored securely on their platform and used solely to send you the content you requested.

Course & membership account information

If you purchase a course or membership, we collect the information necessary to fulfill your purchase and provide access. This includes your name and email address. Payment details are handled exclusively by Stripe — we never see or store your full credit card number (see Section 4).

Information you voluntarily provide

If you contact us directly — for example, by emailing us or submitting a school inquiry form — we collect the information you include in that communication, such as your name, email address, and the content of your message.

Automatically collected information

When you visit our site, our web servers and analytics tools automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and time spent on the site. This data is used in aggregate to understand how visitors use the site and to improve our content (see Section 3).

The short version: We only collect your email address when you choose to give it to us. We do not buy, rent, or sell email lists, and we will never share your personal information with advertisers.

Cookies & Analytics

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow websites to remember your preferences and understand how you interact with the site. We use cookies in limited ways, as described below.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use our website. Google Analytics collects information such as page views, session duration, traffic sources, and general geographic location (country/city level, not precise location). This data is aggregated and anonymized — we cannot identify you individually from analytics data.

Google Analytics may set cookies on your device to track your session. Google's privacy practices are governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled, so your full IP address is never stored by Google.

Essential cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies to make our site function correctly — for example, to keep you logged in if you have a membership account, or to remember your preferences. These cookies are strictly necessary and cannot be disabled without breaking core site functionality.

Kit (ConvertKit) cookies

Our email service provider, Kit, may set cookies related to subscription forms and landing pages to track conversions and prevent duplicate signups.

Managing cookies

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can instruct your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. Please note that disabling some cookies may affect the functionality of our site. For more information on managing cookies, visit allaboutcookies.org.

Payment Processing

All payments for courses and membership subscriptions are processed through Stripe, a leading and PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant payment processor. When you make a purchase on our site, your payment information — including credit card numbers, billing address, and related details — is submitted directly to Stripe's secure servers.

We do not store, process, or have access to your full payment card details. Digital Age Parenting only receives confirmation of a successful transaction and a partial, masked card number for your reference (e.g., the last four digits).

Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy. Stripe may store your payment information to facilitate future purchases if you choose to save your card details.

Your card details are never seen or stored by us. All payment processing happens securely on Stripe's certified infrastructure.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To deliver our Services — sending newsletters, providing course access, and managing your membership account.
  • To communicate with you — responding to questions, sending account-related notifications, and providing customer support.
  • To improve our content — using aggregated analytics data to understand what topics are most helpful and to improve the quality and relevance of our resources.
  • To process transactions — completing course and membership purchases through Stripe and maintaining records as required by law.
  • To send marketing communications — if you have subscribed to our newsletter, we may send you educational content, new resource announcements, and occasional promotional offers. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
  • To comply with legal obligations — retaining records as required by applicable law, including tax and financial regulations.

We will not use your information for any purpose not listed above without first obtaining your consent.

6

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Period. We only share data with service providers who help us operate our business, and only to the extent necessary for them to perform their services.

Our current third-party service providers include:

  • Kit (ConvertKit) — email delivery and subscriber management. Privacy policy at kit.com/privacy.
  • Stripe — payment processing. Privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
  • Google Analytics — website analytics (anonymized). Privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Web hosting provider — server infrastructure to deliver our website.

We may disclose your information when required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Digital Age Parenting, our users, or the public.

If Digital Age Parenting is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, we will notify you before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Digital Age Parenting is a resource for parents and educators. Our Services are directed to adults — specifically parents, caregivers, and school professionals — and are not intended for use by children under the age of 13.

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under 13 years of age. Our newsletter sign-up, course registration, and membership forms are not directed toward children, and we do not ask for information from children.

If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information to us without parental consent, please contact us immediately at hello@digitalageparents.com and we will take prompt steps to delete that information from our records.

We collect no data from children under 13. Our platform is designed exclusively for the adults who care for them.

8

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and to comply with our legal obligations:

  • Email newsletter subscribers — We retain your email address and subscription data for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we will remove your email from our active mailing list within a reasonable period, though we may retain a suppression record to ensure you are not re-added inadvertently.
  • Course and membership account data — We retain account information for the duration of your account and for a period thereafter as required by applicable tax and financial record-keeping laws (typically 7 years).
  • Analytics data — Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted per our settings.
  • Contact and support inquiries — We retain correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve your inquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at hello@digitalageparents.com.

Security

We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include:

  • Encrypted data transmission via HTTPS / SSL across the entire site.
  • Using reputable, security-conscious service providers (Kit, Stripe, Google) with their own robust security programs.
  • Limiting access to personal information to staff and contractors who need it to operate and improve our Services.

No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please notify us immediately at hello@digitalageparents.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or by a prominent notice on our website.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of our Services after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
